Vivo has just unveiled its latest showstoppers, the V40 and V40 Pro smartphones, which pack in significantly larger batteries without sacrificing their sleek design. These new devices also feature advanced camera systems and updated aesthetics, making them a must-watch in the smartphone market.

Both the V40 and V40 Pro share the same dimensions, measuring 164.2 x 74.9 x 7.58 millimeters, and sport a stunning 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a buttery-smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a crisp 2,800 x 1,260 pixel resolution. The screens have seen a major upgrade in brightness, peaking at a dazzling 4,500 nits—an impressive leap from the previous V30 series.

Under the hood, the V40 retains the trusty Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, while the V40 Pro gets a significant performance boost with the Dimensity 9200+ processor, a clear upgrade from the Dimensity 8200 found in the earlier V Pro models.

Running on Android 14 with Funtouch OS 14, both models promise a smooth and responsive user experience, with Vivo committing to rolling out OS updates for four years.

Storage options for the V40 include 8 GB RAM with 128 GB storage, 12 GB RAM with 256 GB storage, and a whopping 12 GB RAM with 512 GB storage. The V40 Pro offers similar configurations but starts at 256 GB storage, ensuring plenty of space for all your apps and media.

Photography enthusiasts will be thrilled with the V40 Pro’s triple camera setup, featuring a 50MP main camera with a Sony IMX921 sensor, a 50MP telephoto portrait camera using a Sony IMX816 sensor, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. The V40 keeps things simpler with a dual camera system inspired by the Gemini constellation, comprising a 50MP main camera and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. Both models include optical image stabilization (OIS) and an AI Aura Light Portrait feature enhanced by a ring-shaped LED flash.

Selfie lovers aren’t left out either, with both phones sporting a 50MP front camera based on a Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor, ensuring crystal-clear self-portraits and video calls.

Battery life sees a significant boost, with both models featuring 5,500 mAh batteries—the largest ever in the V series. They support 80W FlashCharge fast charging technology, with Vivo claiming these batteries can endure 1,600 full charge cycles while maintaining at least 80% of their original capacity, ensuring longevity and reliability.

The V40 and V40 Pro come in a range of stylish colors: Meteor Blue, Moonlight White, and Stellar Silver, with the V40 also available in Nebula Purple and Sunglow Peach.

Priced at $480 in India for the V40 and $655 for the V40 Pro, these phones offer a compelling mix of performance, style, and value.

The larger batteries in the V40 and V40 Pro promise longer usage times, perfect for heavy users. The enhanced brightness and performance upgrades ensure a top-notch user experience. However, the higher price point may be a deterrent for budget-conscious buyers.
